Ninja Gaiden meets Dark Souls – Say Hello to ‘Nioh’

The amazing people behind Ninja Gaiden have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming game Nioh.

Visually Nioh looks quite similar to Ninja Gaiden or Ominusha, which has always been quite nice. However, this time round gameplay is (very Souls-y) reliant on your stamina meter, ensuring that you keep a close watch on it as you plan your strike or dodge.

It does even have a bit of a Bloodborne feel to it, from a defense point of view, while at the same time following the aggressive play style of Dark Souls. Note that the UI and use of D-Pad also play homage to the Souls series.

It will be interesting to see how this game progresses over the next months, and how it’ll stand apart from the Souls series.

New Bloodborne footage from The Game Awards

From Software, the makers of the Souls games, has revealed new gameplay footage from its highly anticipated PS4 Sgame Bloodborne at this weekend’s The Game Awards.

The new footage focuses heavily on the multiplayer component, which appears to be showing three-player co-op!

Plus, we also get to see a makeshift flamethrower made from a modified lantern in action!

20 minutes of Lost Ark gameplay

Probably THE best Diablo 3 clone? Lost Ark is a Korean-made action-RPG that looks a lot like Blizzard’s Diablo 3, just…. nicer!

 

Developed by Tripod Studio, the game surely does look amazing, though at the moment it doesn’t look like there will be a Western release.  For more information, visit Lost Ark’s website

The problem with Assassin’s Creed Unity’s graphics settings

So I’ve been playing around with Assassin’s Creed Unity using ShadowPlay (nVidia’s recording software), playing around with graphics qualities, anti-aliasing etc, and to be brutally honest, it still looks awful.

If you look at the video in full-screen / 1080p/60fps (you’ll need Chrome for that to see it properly) you’ll see what I mean…. crowds, buildings in the distance, even the character himself look washed out, blurry, low-res even.

I’ll need to spend a few hours in the settings and fixing up some config files I guess before I actually enjoy playing it 🙁

Some Lords of the Fallen Gameplay

Just been playing a bit of Lords of the Fallen, recorded the first 30 minutes of gameplay footage. Managed to unlock a couple of achievements and killed the first Warden 🙂
